Creating Culturally and Linguistically Relevant Health Education Materials

When:  Jan 22, 2024 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)

Date: Monday, January 22nd, 2024

Time: 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST

About this event: The National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM) is funded by the CDC to support health departments and community organizations working with refugee, immigrant, and migrant communities that have been disproportionately affected by health inequities. High-quality resources that are rigorously translated, culturally relevant, and professionally designed are hard to come by, and NRC-RIM has filled that gap.

Join Syreeta Wilkins, communications strategist from NRC-RIM, for this webinar where you will learn to use NRC-RIM's templates to create health education campaigns in more than 40 languages, or create your own campaign in partnership with your local community. During the webinar, our featured speaker will review material creation, including free, low-tech tools, stock photo selection, design principles; share translation strategies that ensure materials are linguistically and culturally relevant; and demonstrate how to customize professionally designed and pre-translated NRC-RIM health campaign materials. Live Spanish interpretation will be provided at this session

Who it’s for: This group learning event is open to P4VE Learning Community members and other organizations working to advance vaccine equity.
