Join Dr. Laura Smith, research associate in the Health Policy Center at the Urban Institute, for a presentation on the importance of transportation as a social determinant of health, and specifically how the availability of public transit can make it easier for people to reach their doctor. Dr. Smith will describe recent research projects on the link between transportation and health care use. As well as discuss the role of transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how this also relates to the increasing popularity of telehealth (using phone or internet for doctor’s visits) during the past few years.
