Reaching Adults without Insurance Coverage for COVID-19 Vaccines: Insights for Supporting the Bridge

When:  Apr 10, 2024 from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM (ET)

About this event: As P4VE-funded and other community partners pursue new objectives related to the Bridge Access Program for Uninsured Adults, intended for the “25-30 million adults without health insurance and additional adults whose insurance does not cover all COVID-19 vaccine costs,” they need to understand the uninsured and underinsured populations to help focus their vaccine equity activities. This session will describe the uninsured/underinsured adult population and discuss experiences of P4VE Learning Community members who are prioritizing uninsured/underinsured adults in their vaccine equity programs.

First, Jennifer Haley, an Urban Institute researcher, will summarize “Health Insurance 101” and coverage for adults’ vaccinations, describe uninsured adults, and share resources for supporting uninsured and underinsured adults without no-cost vaccine coverage. Next, Sarah Price, Director of Public Health Integration at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), will describe the role of community health centers in facilitating immunization access for uninsured and underinsured adults. Finally, will share on-the-ground experiences helping uninsured adults obtain vaccinations through the Bridge Access Program. Live Spanish interpretation will be provided at this session.

Who it’s for: This group learning event is open to P4VE Learning Community members and other organizations working to advance vaccine equity.
